10 March 2023“We simply like the people we cooperate with” – an interview with Anna Bugała, Sales Advisor

Magorex is more than sheets and forms, know-how or production technologies. It’s mostly the people. On a daily basis, we have had the pleasure of working with some employees for the second decade. Today we asked Anna Bugała from the domestic sales department, who has been supplying our ranks for 17 years, about reflections and a look at the industry and the functioning of the company in the post-pandemic world.

Thank you and congratulations - customers have appreciated your work for years. We are curious to know whether sales have always been your goal?

Absolutely not, I even swore that working in sales is not for me at all. I came to Magorex to work in the secretariat, but quite quickly I was offered the job of a sales representative, which involved frequent trips. Now I work in sales mainly from the office, more stationary. I admit that I am surprised myself, a  teenager me did not expect it, but today I can confidently say that over these 17 years, I have managed to build real, human relationships with our clients.

Let's go back for a moment to 2022. How do you remember this year - was it in any way special when it comes to sales and working with our Partners?

I could definitely tell that people were braver, that the anxiety caused by the pandemic had decreased and it was also visible here at Magorex, for example by the number of orders. People know us and appreciate the quality of our products, that’s why they contact us and come back with orders.

How has this affected the work of sales representatives? Do you see any new trends in the functioning of the company?

We’re continuing what we’ve been doing because it’s good. Our practices not only translate into sales but are also appreciated by our clients, who emphasize our flexibility and comprehensive advice.

Of course, we also try to keep up with the needs of the market. For example, we saw the need to create a device that would streamline the process of cutting cakes in bakeries and pastry shops. This is how the idea was born, and later the production of an automatic slicer for cakes and pies started. We also try to constantly modernize our products, if possible. For this purpose, we observe the market, analyze our clients’ inquiries and conduct talks with them regarding their work and the efficiency of their plants.

So constant observation and reaction. What do you expect in the coming months? Is it time for a revolution? New year - new Magorex?

Not necessarily, we just do our job. It’s not a revolution, it’s an evolution. There is always a demand for classic, best-selling products, but we are still open to development and listening to our customers. We are constantly responding to the signals we get from the clients and the market. We have a friendly relationship with a few bakeries, where we can consult and test new ideas. After all, customers know best what would make their work easier and, as I have already mentioned, they talk to us about it. And we always follow their needs.

You've recently participated in a trade fair, EXPO SWEET, meanwhile the world has moved towards virtual, remote contact. In your opinion, after the pandemic, do stationary events still make sense at all?

Yes definitely. We all need a face-to-face contact. Not only on our part, but our customers also confirm it. We just like each other, we like the people we cooperate with. And it is important for us to maintain these relations. And the fair is the best opportunity for this.
