28 July 2026More Than Steel and Flour. How One of Our Team Members Conquered 281 km Across Portugal

At Magorex, our everyday work revolves around precision, steel, baking trays, and solutions that help bakeries achieve the perfect bake. We understand the importance of getting every detail right, and we know that even the strongest materials require skill, patience, and craftsmanship. But we also know something else. Behind every machine, every design, and every baking tray are real people with extraordinary stories. And sometimes, human determination proves to be even stronger than anything we manufacture. Recently, our colleague Przemek reminded us of that when he lined up at the start of Horizontes Portugal—one of Europe’s toughest endurance events. 281 kilometres. A distance that looks intimidating even on a map, let alone on foot.

More Than Just a Race

Over the past few days, many of us were following the live updates and cheering Przemek on. Some might wonder why a manufacturer of bakery equipment is so invested in an ultramarathon taking place hundreds of kilometres away.

The answer is simple. Because we believe our people deserve to be celebrated not only for what they achieve at work, but also for the passions and challenges they pursue beyond it.

Every meaningful achievement—whether in sport or in business—begins long before the starting line. It takes months of preparation, discipline, early mornings, and countless hours of work that no one else sees. But the real test doesn’t come when everything goes according to plan. It comes when the plan changes.

When Plan A Stops Working

About halfway through the race, Przemek began experiencing serious problems with his leg. His quadriceps became heavily overloaded, making every kilometre significantly more demanding. After receiving treatment at a service checkpoint, he was able to continue, although the pain stayed with him all the way to the finish line.

That part of the story resonated with us the most. It’s easy to celebrate success when everything goes smoothly. Real character, however, reveals itself when your body tells you to stop, yet you still find the strength to keep moving forward.

For us, that perseverance is worth far more than many personal records. It is a reminder that determination often matters more than perfect conditions.

Crossing the Finish Line

Przemek not only completed the race but also received the official Ambassador Sash, awarded to the first participant from each country to reach the finish line.

It’s a recognition that made all of us incredibly proud. We would also like to thank everyone who followed the journey with us, sent messages of support, and cheered Przemek on throughout the event.

At Magorex, we are proud to support initiatives that encourage our team members to challenge themselves, pursue their passions, and push beyond their own limits.

Congratulations, Przemek. We couldn’t be prouder.
