30 March 2020Bread and coronavirus – is there anything to be afraid of?

Do you buy bread at the bakery and are afraid that you may become infected with coronavirus? Read the statement and recommendations of the Chief Sanitary Inspector regarding bakery products.

Due to the concerns of customers who buy loose bread, the Chief Sanitary Inspector informs that there are no scientific reports indicating coronavirus infection through the oral route.

At the same time, the Chief Sanitary Inspector reminds you of the need to maintain the basic principles of safety and hygiene consisting in using gloves or disposable bags at bread sales points.

If you have any doubts or concerns, just place the purchased bread for about 2 minutes in an oven preheated to 180-200°C. Available scientific sources indicate that viruses are inactivated at a temperature of about 60-70°C.
